The success of the MSC depends on its board members who dedicate their time and energy to planning fun social events for its members, hosting events for our military families, helping to plan events that raise philanthropic funds, and ensuring those funds are responsibly distributed to our community. All of the board positions play an important part in making it all happen. We are happy you stopped by and are considering applying!

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (ELECTED) POSITIONS
PRESIDENT: Presides at all MSC meetings and events. Appoints chairpersons and fills any vacancy on the board. Has a working knowledge of the Constitution/Bylaws and Operational/Philanthropic budgets. Serves as an advisor on all committees and for board positions as needed. Oversees all club activities. Represents MSC at base events.
Philanthropic, 1st VICE PRESIDENT: Performs the duties of the President in his/her absence and assumes the Presidency if necessary. Serves on the Budget, Constitution and By-laws committees. Supervises and guides, philanthropic giving; presents requests to the board to vote on, and delivers donation checks. Takes minutes in absence of the Secretary. Oversees Philanthropic Chairs.
Operational, 2nd VICE PRESIDENT: Assists the President and assumes duties of the 1st Vice President in her/his absence. Serves on the Budget and Constitution and By-laws Committees. Is responsible for all matters concerning protocol. Oversees Operational Chairs. Maintains a current inventory list. Responsible for holiday decorating. Chairs the MCHP/Breakfast with Santa Committee in the event that the position is not filled.
SECRETARY: Records minutes of all MSC board meetings. Distributes meeting info to board members. Maintains a board roster and place cards for board meetings. Distributes membership directory to membership quarterly. Checks the Private Organization box and distributes mail. Assumes Parliamentarian duties in her/his absence. Keeps all MSC official records for 3 years.
OPERATIONAL TREASURER: Maintains all administrative records and pays approved accounts. Assembles bookkeeping records for delivery to auditor and tax preparer. Serves as Co-Chair of the Budget Committee. Bookkeeping knowledge helpful, but not required. Performs duties of Philanthropic Treasurer in her/his absence.
PHILANTHROPIC TREASURER: Maintains all philanthropic records and pays approved accounts. Is responsible for all philanthropic requests and dispersal of philanthropic monies as directed by the MSC. Assembles bookkeeping records for delivery to auditor and tax preparer. Serves as Co-Chair of the Budget Committee. Bookkeeping knowledge helpful, but not required. Performs duties of Operational Treasurer in her/his absence. Serves as the Bazaar Finance Chair.
ADDITIONAL MSC BOARD POSITIONS
These positions are appointed. While they are not elected positions, they are vital to the success of the board & the club!
Executive Committee Appointed Positions
PARLIAMENTARIAN - Advises President and Board on parliamentary procedures; chairs the annual Nominating Committee; ensures that Constitution and By-laws are reviewed every two years as chair of the Review Committee.
General Board Chairs
BAZAAR CHAIR - Chairs/co-chairs the Mayfair Bazaar Committee; recruits committee members, coordinates event with 100 ARW; conducts monthly/bi-monthly Bazaar meetings; present at all Bazaar events.
HOSPITALITY - Introduces new and departing members at functions; purchases and distributes welcome, farewell and baby gifts; coordinates MSC’s Heart’s Apart dinner.
PUBLIC RELATIONS/ADVERTISING - Promotes MSC activities through printed media including monthly social posters and club marketing materials such as posters, flyers, business cards etc; maintains and updates website and Facebook pages to promote MSC activities; ensures photos are taken at events and used for PR/Advertising.
MEMBERSHIP - Processes membership paperwork and dues; maintains current membership listing; liaison for A&FRC programs (Newcomer’s, Heartlink).
RESERVATIONS - Designs and maintains system for accepting reservations for all functions; finds a childcare provider to watch children during board meetings and daytime social events.
SCHOLARSHIP - Serves on Community Scholarship Association (CSA) along with other MSC representative, responsible for managing contributions and distribution of high school and adult scholarships.
EVENT PLANNER / SOCIAL COORDINATOR - Plans monthly social themes, menus, decorations and door prizes; coordinates Board meetings and social schedule with President.
ACTIVITIES & CLUBS - Coordinates special activities and promotes to members; organizes sign-up in the fall.
THRIFT SHOP - Ensures MSC provides volunteers; ensures Thrift Shop rules and regulations are followed; minimum 2 hours volunteering in the Thrift Shop each week.
COMMUNITY CLOSET - Ensures MSC provides volunteers; ensures rules and regulations are followed; minimum 5 hours volunteering each month.
WAYS & MEANS - Manages Ways & Means table at socials and coordinates special fundraisers at the request of the board.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR - Develops volunteer events and programs for the club in the base and local community; works with Secretary to keep track of volunteer hours; submits exceptional volunteers for awards.
CHILDREN’S HOLIDAY PARTY CHAIR – Plans the annual December Children’s Holiday Party. Fills committee, coordinates with advisors, base leadership and A&FRC.
SHOPPER – Assists Event Planners and President with purchasing gifts, door prizes and other needed items.
